Today the Financial Modeling Institute launched the GLC
We are delighted to share that the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) has launched its new Financial Modeling Global Leaders Council (GLC), bringing together the world's leading financial modelling experts to help shape the future of the profession.
The Global Leaders Council is a first-of-its-kind international forum comprising more than 60 financial modelling leaders from 26 countries across five continents. Members include senior corporate finance professionals, heads of modelling from major organisations, specialist training providers, and academics, all collaborating to provide thought leadership and guidance for the financial modelling community.
We are especially proud to announce that our CEO, Giles Male, has been appointed as a member of the Council. As a Microsoft MVP, Master Financial Modeler (MFM), and one of only eight individuals worldwide to hold all three FMI certifications (AFM, CFM and MFM), Giles brings a unique combination of technical expertise, practical modelling experience, and commitment to education and community development.
The launch of the GLC comes at a pivotal time for the profession. Advances in artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics and modern Excel capabilities are transforming how financial models are built, reviewed and used. The Council has been established to help practitioners navigate these changes, identify emerging opportunities and risks, and promote high standards across the profession globally.
As part of its work, the Global Leaders Council will publish regular reports and thought leadership content designed to provide financial modelling professionals with insights into the future direction of the industry and the skills needed to remain effective in a rapidly evolving environment.
For Full Stack Modeller, Giles' appointment is a recognition of the work we do to advance financial modelling standards, support professional development, and help finance professionals make better decisions through robust modelling practices and modern Excel techniques.
Commenting on the appointment, Giles said:
"I am honoured to be part of the Financial Modeling Global Leaders Council. Financial modelling is evolving rapidly, particularly with the rise of AI and increasingly powerful analytical tools. The opportunity to collaborate with leading experts from around the world and help shape the future of the profession is incredibly exciting."
We congratulate all members of the inaugural Council and look forward to contributing to the important discussions and initiatives that will help define the future of financial modelling.
