How we think with our eyes - iconic versus working memory

It's not uncommon for people to watch the flicker image from yesterday's experiment for the full sixty seconds and not see the difference.

Don't worry - this isn't an intelligence or ability test. It's just a question of luck. If you happened to look at the spot where the difference is before the image changed, and crucially were still focused on that same spot after the change, you'd spot it. If you didn't do that - you wouldn't. It's that simple. But it tells us a lot about how our visual systems work.
